PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - AERO ENGINE Makino is a world leader in metal-cutting and machining technology. About this position: Aero Engine Process Development Engineers have the primary responsibility of supporting Makino's pre and post-sales efforts surrounding aerospace engine component manufacturing. To this end, you will evaluate the customers manufacturing needs, develop a process plan, design tool geometries, fixtures, etc. You will create NC programs using Siemens NX, prove out said programs using CGTECH Vericut simulations. You will execute these machine demonstrations, test cuts or projects on various Makino milling and grinding machine platforms, utilizing 3+2, or simultaneous 5 axis machining techniques. Skills you will develop in this position: * Detailed knowledge of CNC part programming, with an understanding of macro programming. * A thorough understanding of solid modeling and 3,4, and 5 axis CAM programming utilizing Siemens NX software. * Develop milling and grinding part processing solutions for exotic metals, and high temperature alloys. * Investigate new techniques and tooling, in anticipation of customer needs, develop new solutions when the existent technology is inadequate. * Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and improve machining processes including but not limited to fixturing issues, CNC program and/or parameter and tooling issues. Your responsibilities: * Execute Customer specific projects, which will require that you design tooling, design dressing rolls, design fixture solutions, create NC programs, etc., at either Makino Mason, or the customers facility. * Perform test cuts and machine demonstrations for Aero Engine components, including virtual and digital representations. * Documentation of project results and customer specific processing. * Perform post-sale startup assistance and training for customers, at their facility. What you need to be successful in the role: * Ability to present a professional image, while demonstrating excellent communication and customer relation skills. * Positive attitude, open minded team player, but capable of thinking "outside the box". * Ability to multi-task, are self-motivated and have the desire to work in a manufacturing environment. * Operational knowledge of Multi-Axis CNC Machining Centers, with a working knowledge of Fanuc and/or Makino controls. * Computer literate to support industry standard software applications.
