JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises, tracks, and evaluates the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. Establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information to the Plant Controller. Works closely with the financial management team to ensure the company’s financial future.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :

1. Responsible for plant AP functions, reporting and received not invoiced balances. Work with vendors, purchasing and receiving to improve processes.

2. Weekly plant billing and workpapers

3. Daily production reconciliations and reporting

4. Responsible for weekly packaging reports

5. Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including but not limited to month and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, the general ledger, payroll, utilities, budget, and other functions of the department.

a. Coordinates and completes annual audits.

b. Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

c. Improves systems and procedures and initiates corrective actions when needed.

d. Supervises the general ledger to ensure all financial deadlines are met.

e. Supports budget and forecasting activities.

6. Monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports or statements.

a. Establishes and maintains fiscal files and records to document transactions.

b. Provides recommendations to management on financial strategies and plans.

c. Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

7. Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.

8. Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.

a. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

9. May assume other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

§ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field required

§ Proven working experience in accounting or finance field. 2-3 years of AP experience is preferred.

§ Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and database management

§ Proven ability to manipulate and interpret large amounts of data

§ Ability to speak, read, and write English

§ Good verbal and written communication skills

§ Excellent math skills

§ Must be well-organized with good attention to detail

§ Display strong work ethic and positive attitude

§ Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

Sedentary office work, sitting for long hours

HEARING:

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

VISUAL ABILITIES:

Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

Must be able to exert 10 lbs. of force occasionally throughout the day.
