Family Service Association - Fall River Van Driver - Adult Day Health in Mashpee, Massachusetts

We are hiring a part time 25 hours per week Van Driver to transport our clients in the newly established Seaview Adult Day Health Center Program in Mashpee.  This position is Monday through Friday split shift, 6:30 - 9:00am and 1:30 - 4:00pm.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Transport program participants according to established safety rules and road regulations, set by D.O.T.

  • Secure and maintain all required safety equipment in the vehicle.

  • Follow the Vehicle Maintenance Protocol and keep the Transportation Coordinator informed of all service needs.

  • Report any problems or maintenance concerns to the Transportation Coordinator.

  • Keep exterior and interior of vans clean and free of potentially hazardous materials.

  • Assist at sites as needed.

  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Ensure that all passengers have secured seat belts at all times. Ensure wheelchairs are secure with tie downs at all times according to DOT regulations.

  • Maintain a daily transportation log.

  • Complete a Daily Pre and Post Trip Inspection Form.

  • Will drive para van as needed to ensure transportation needs are meet.

  • Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisor.

  • Ensure that the Daily Passenger Log is complete, signed and turned into the Site

    We are seeking a dependable, conscientious driver with a clean driving record and good communication skills in the Mashpee area. Applicants must have a proven record of vehicle safety and must provide safe and courteous transportation for our program participants utilizing the agency's fleet of vans. 

    Education and Experience:

  • Experience with either elders or disabled adults required. 

  • A minimum with Van Driving experience in this field is required. 

  • Must possess an ability to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.

  • Our Van Drivers must be able to pass CPR and First Aid Certification

  • Must have the ability to physically assist program participants as they enter and exit the vehicle according to established safety rules and road regulations.

  • Our Van Drivers must also be able to successfully complete a MA State CORI check, CPS check and company paid, pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol testing and be enrolled in our drug and alcohol testing consortium.
