Continental PI Engineer in Marysville, Ohio

The mission of the position is to implement process industrialization activities in order to meet budget and production targets (e.g. reduce scrap and waste, cycle times, First Pass Yields). Furthermore, the PPI Engineer initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement of all product and process industrialization relevant processes for Conveyor Belt production

▪ manage product specific ramp-up or change projects (e.g. team setup, interfacing to business / customer organization, project planning and control, etc.) for e.g. new raw materials or new / relocated production processes according to BU specific standards

▪ create and update Plant Recipes according to the BU Master Recipes based on the localy available raw materials and production processes in alignment with the R&D Global PI

▪ update of product specific production control plan (in close cooperation with Q) and work instructions (pre-series, series) according to standards provided by R&D Global PI and BU MPE

▪ prepare shelf life/storage instructions

▪ plan and perform product specific testing (e.g. new reinforcements steel cords, fabrics) and start-up of production process and pre-series production (e.g. ensuring processability, equipment performance) and handover to production (series) according to standards and make decision about the plant level approval in alignment with the R&D PI and BU MPE

▪ update of product specific process FMEA according to local conditions and standards

▪ identify and implement product optimization potential (e.g. raw material replacement) in running articles in alignment with R&D PI according to standards

▪ proactive solving of quality issues regarding customer complaints and reject rate (in close cooperation with Q) according to BU specific standards

▪identify and implement technical production processes optimization potential regarding quality, efficiency and capability (i.e. process parameters as e.g. Mixing cycle, etc.) according to standards

▪ local implementation of BU product and process industrialization standards

▪ provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding product and process industrialization processes (e.g. definition of production parameters, production flow plans, production control plans and work instructions, etc.), product and process industrialization IT tools (e.g. FMEA software) to segment, BU or divisional functions

4 year university degree, preferably in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, chemistry or related discipline

▪ 5 or more years of professional experience in various process engineering functions

▪ cross-functional experience e.g. in engineering, quality, production or CBS preferred

comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes and ramp-up projects (preferred)
