Graybar Business Development Manager- Renewables in Maryland Heights, Missouri

Are you ready?

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for Strategic Account business development with large utility EPCs in the US . Also responsible for the coordination of resources and leveraging relationships (internal and external) to create new business opportunities that achieve the desired results. The primary focus of the position is selling the entire Company solutions platform regardless of the line of business.

In this role you will:

  • Call on large utility EPCs. Develop them into customers of Graybar by showcasing value, national reach, supplier relations and market stability.

  • Lead the coordination of resources; leverage relationships with targeted customers with Strategic Account Managers, District and Branch sales teams, key suppliers, and key customers

  • Develop leads, identify strategies, and execute action items to maximize local and national opportunities; attain or exceed sales and profit budgets

  • Provide a high level of expertise to end users, consultants, engineers, and/or architects to assist with the specification of products and solutions to meet customer needs and improve the position of the Company

  • Articulate the Company's value proposition and solution offering to all levels of a customer organization; leverage specialized knowledge gained during opportunity identification process

  • Maintain alignment with Corporate, district, and branch initiatives and strategies

  • Participate in professional organizations to enhance lead generation potential and overall reputation

  • Conduct professional presentations on Company product and service solutions to potential customers; present customer needs and concerns to appropriate personnel

  • Recommend changes to processes to reduce costs and/or to improve service

  • Assist branch location to exceed sales and profit budgets

What you bring to the table:

  • 5 or more years of progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience with demonstrated history of success in objectives required

  • 6+ years experience working within distribution or related industry with a proven track record of high quality performance preferred

  • 4 year degree in Business or related major preferred; experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the hiring manager

  • Experience in the wholesale distribution industry, its trends, and product applications

  • Technical product application skills

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Oral, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to complete a customer needs analysis and collaborate with co-workers and manufacturer representatives to identify appropriate customer strategies

  • Ability prospect for new business, cold call, develop leads, and network within a given market to find business activity, decision makers, and influencers to create demand for Company products and services

  • Ability to obtain meetings, create credible value proposition, and develop rapport with new and existing clients

  • Ability to review and assess RFP documentation and make recommendations; ability to compose professional proposal documents

  • Significant travel required

Pay Details:

The expected salary for this position is starting at $82,000.00 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible based on specific and relevant business metrics.
