ProSphere Tek SATCOM Network Engineer in Mary Esther, Florida

Overview

Planned Systems International is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with Systems Administration experience to provide AFSOC with AISR aircraft Network Engineering support at HQ AFSOC Hurlburt Field, FL. The support includes management and maintenance of network, cryptographic, and modem hardware for SATCOM capable aviation assets, portable roll-on/roll-off SATCOM connectivity kits, ground-based gateways (e.g., USSOCOM RGEPs and DISA’s AISR Satellite Gateways), the associated transport infrastructure network management (e.g., satellite and terrestrial networks and configurations), Commercial Service Provider engagement, PMO/SPO coordination, and DoD sensor data distribution systems, solutions, and interface support.

The primary duty location will be at Hurlburt Field, FL. The Engineering Team will support enterprise baseline and capability development with the ability to deploy both CONUS and OCONUS on an as required basis to support air and ground station nodes. Engineers may also be required to deploy in order to conduct inspections and assessments, or to provide system level engineering assistance visits. There primary areas of support are as follows:

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend courses of action to identify efficiencies, improve existing operational performance, and correct system degradation.

  • Manage and remediate system level vulnerabilities and deficiencies, to include application of Network and System DISA STIGs when applicable.

  • Assist AFSOC in establishing, documenting, integrating, and maintaining system best practices, operational enhancements, and enterprise baselines.

  • Provide AFSOC program management, project management, and government operations personnel with training and assistance on new and existing technologies.

  • Ensure all baseline configurations, architectural documentation, and drawings are accurately updated and managed in accordance with applicable Documentation and Configuration Management policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Technology, or related field; or 6 years of applicable Network Engineering experience.

  • Valid and Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

  • Valid and Current Intermediate Cyber Security Certification as required by DoD 8140.02 (Previously IAT Level 2), such as a CompTIA Security+.

  • Minimum 4 years experience with CISCO Routers and Switches.

  • Minimum 3 years experience with Unix / Linux Operating Systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • (Highly Preferred) Previous experience working with DoD SATCOM Systems (Ku/Ka Bands).

  • (Highly Preferred) Familiarity with NSA-Approved In-line Network Encryptor (INE) Systems (KG-Series Encryptors).
