The Material Master Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Manager Material Master in the day-to-day operation of product master data, under direct supervision. This position will perform data entry of material master, answer questions about materials, run reports to ensure data accuracy and enter non-critical changes to specifications.

    Responsibilities:

  • Ensure material master data is maintained and available for use by all business areas.

  • Ensure adherence to master data guidelines.

  • Process requests for new material numbers for finished goods, raw materials, sub-assemblies, and maintenance materials.

  • Manages the material interchangeability process, ensuring unique material numbers and standard naming conventions are used.

  • Create master record in the ERP system of record (SAP) to feed into multiple systems within the organization and external sources.

  • Works with internal partners to correct any master data discrepancies.

  • Trouble shoots material information on failed data synchronization to trading partners.

  • Audit master data to ensure data integrity and consistent uses of material formats and business unit needs.

  • Runs weekly, monthly and bi-annual reports to review data accuracy.

  • Compiles reports for material master data upon request.

  • Joins project teams to communicate master data needs and timing for set up.

  • Manages master data deletion process; researching product history, retention guidelines, and departmental usage to prevent data corruption.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) - Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 0-3 years of related experience

  • Previous experience in food industry and food production preferred

  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Basic knowledge of material master data

  • Reporting and query ability in database

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Must be a detail-oriented person, able to handle and prioritize many duties

  • Must have excellent written, proofreading, and communication skills

  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
