Goodwill Industries of Northern WI and Upper MI Part-Time Service Provider in Marquette, Michigan

Goodwill Industries of Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan is seeking a Part-Time Service Provider to join our Workforce Development team in Houghton, MI. The hired candidate will support vocational training to adults with disabilities. Position responsibilities include:

  • Implementing training techniques based on specific individualized program plans
  • Assisting in toileting, hygiene, and other personal care needs of program clients
  • Recording attendance, client progress, daily production, and other data
  • Setting up workstations
  • Providing occasional transportation for clients
  • Learn GW processes, including MITC
  • Develop relationships with clients and other Program personnel
  • Become trained in Customer (CMH) policies and procedures
  • Job coach customers in training sites and/or on job sites. 
  • Learn the job tasks and be able to coach consumer how to do the tasks.
  • Assist in job modifications for consumer as necessary.  
  • Teach program participants job tasks.      
  • Communicate with the employer on the work performed.
  • Evaluate the performance of customer and report on progress to Workforce Development Specialist Team Leader or WFD Specialist.                                                                      
  • Maintain appropriate records and submit in a timely manner.  
  • Assist in the transfer of supervision from coach to business.     

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:

  • Empathy towards persons with disabilities.
  • Awareness of work procedures and practices.               
  • Ability to teach adult persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of work procedures and techniques and/or ability to learn specific job tasks.
  • A self-starter and independent worker.
  • Able to provide transportation to self and clients on a regular basis.

Minimum and preferred qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree Preferred.
  • A least one year experience in a human service program required. A combination of education and work history will be considered.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
