Two positions available. Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required

Salary:

Targeted Salary range is $71,120-$80,000

Travel:

Over 50%

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties:

Plan and execute strategies for securing philanthropic commitments on behalf of Northern Michigan University. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects. Research and prepare oral and written presentations for major gift prospects. Serve as the liaison/coordinator for college and departmental fundraising efforts. Responsible for maintaining a portfolio of major gift prospects ranging in size from 150-200. Identify and engage volunteers, alumni, staff and faculty in the fundraising process. Utilize a prospect management tracking system. Organize special events as relates to major gift prospects. Travel required.

Required Minimum Work Experience:

Three years' work experience in higher education fundraising, preferably as a development officer, or in a related position such as annual giving or donor relations and stewardship or comparable experience in non-profit fundraising, marketing/communication and public relations, university admissions, banking or corporate sales work. Fundraising experience that includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects and donors.
