Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties:

The Three-year Assistant Professor Term position(s) requires a Ph.D. in forensic biology or a related field. ABD in one of these areas may be accepted if the degree will be completed prior to the start date for the position. The assignments will include teaching a range of courses related to forensic science such as Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Biology, Forensic Microscopy, Forensic Entomology, other areas of forensic science, a career seminar, or advanced courses in areas of specialty. Assignments may also include teaching in related fields including human histology, entomology, or insect ecology. Teaching assignments will include research in biology courses that will require engaging students in research at the NMU Forensic Research Outdoor Station, the NMU outdoor human taphonomy facility (https://nmu.edu/frost/facilities). This is a campus based position.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:

Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

The position requires a Ph.D. (ABD may be accepted if the degree will be completed prior to the start date for the position) in forensic biology or a related field. Applicants must be able to teach in one or more of the specialty areas listed above.
