General Summary

The Procurement Analyst - Direct materials will be responsible, but not limited to, the procurement of a variety of electrical, mechanical, optical components, and subassemblies. This will include obtaining quotes from suppliers through formal RFQ processes, pursuing cost saving goals through data-driven means, tactical purchasing of materials, expediting, and maintaining contact with our suppliers to foster relationships to ensure both value and performance. Working on assigned projects as required for informational research, while supporting the i mplementation and management of engineering change impacts on procured parts.

Essential Job Function

  • Plan, negotiate, and buy assigned commodities in support business goals objectives.

  • Identify and assist in the evaluation, selection, and sourcing of materials from global suppliers.

  • Manage and lead periodic business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Provide commodity support for new product introductions and make versus buy recommendations.

  • Propose cost/lead-time reduction programs in support of goals and objectives.

  • Maintaining inventory goals while supporting service levels and manufacturing build plans.

  • Meet all company, corporate, legal, and operations management requirements in carrying out the purchasing activity.

  • Sign off and disposition of all discrepant materials, while maintaining supplier accountability.

  • Review engineering changes effecting assigned product line(s) to access cost/material impact and effectivity timing.

  • Coordinate supplier RMAs with suppliers.

  • Support ad hoc internal departments with their Indirect material needs for projects.

Knowledge/Educational Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Problem solving, analytical, teamwork & organizational skills.

  • PC skills in a Windows-based e-mail, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint processing.

  • GMP or ISO 9000 Experience required. ISO 13485 preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • C.P.M. and APICS certification preferred.

  • Up to 5 years MRP, manufacturing planning and purchasing experience.

  • Must be an energetic individual who is a self-starter and requires little supervision.

  • Commitment to customer service & delivery performance.
