DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Product Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team specializing in Engineering for Cummins in Marktheidenfeld, Bayern, Germany . (limited for 2 years)

This entry level/early career professional, product focused position tailors electronic and electrical systems for Cummins products. People in these positions will translate product requirements into hardware and software technical requirements that control the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications. Additionally, there is responsibility to configure (tune), and complete comprehensive validation testing of the fully integrated hardware and software systems.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Focus on specifying, tuning, and testing the electronic components and software associated with the Cummins Urea Dosing System, ensuring the electric aspects are thoroughly evaluated and optimized.

  • Hydraulic System Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality component delivery, with particular attention to the hydraulic aspects of the dosing system, leveraging input from various stakeholders to inform product decisions.

  • Investigate electronic application and systems problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate actions, and document results, with guidance from more experienced team members.

  • Apply and support the enhancement of electronic application and systems development processes and tools, including system specification, modeling and simulation, calibration, and troubleshooting.

  • Make informed decisions regarding electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing that impact the quality and performance of individual features or components.

  • Provide independent execution of established work processes and systems, coordinate and direct the work of technicians and/or temporary student employees as needed.

  • Develop and utilize tools for simulation, calibration, and product life maintenance to ensure the delivery of quality products.

  • Contribute effectively to team goals, exhibit influence within the work group, and continue to develop proficiency in critical competency areas, without direct management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Demonstrates a standalone working attitude, capable of independently managing tasks and projects without constant supervision.

  • Exhibits critical and forward-thinking abilities, consistently questioning existing processes and solutions to drive innovation and improvement.

  • Possesses strong communication and project management skills, essential for effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders and managing project timelines and deliverables.

  • Entry-level or early-career professionals with relevant experience gained through internships, co-op programs, extracurricular activities. Proficiency in MS Office tools is preferred.

  • Skilled in solving product problems using data-driven processes that protect the customer, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Experienced in specifying and applying electronic hardware and interconnections to measure and control systems, ensuring the integration and optimization of mechatronic systems.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge in EMC/EMI (Electromagnetic Compatibility and Immunity)

  • Knowledge in Matlab/Simulink

  • Knowledge in LabView/DIAde

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.

  • Entry level/Early career professional. Preferred candidates would have relevant experience working in either a temporary student employment environment (intern, co-op, or other extracurricular team activities) or as an early career professional in a relevant technical discipline area.
