TRECA Digital Academy 7-12 English Teacher in Marion, Ohio

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: TRECA e-learning initiatives include TRECA Digital Academy (TDA) and TRECA Flex, alternatives to traditional schooling that utilize 21st-century technology. TDA provides students with computer technology, allowing them to progress at their own pace. Teachers work with an assigned group of students, overseeing assigned e-learning classes, providing day-to-day support, and monitoring daily progress. Teachers play a strong role in helping the student develop an effective work ethic by monitoring progress and proactively engaging the learner, developing close professional relationships with students that enable and foster mentoring. The use of technology to develop these relationships is essential. This position works mainly from a home office but reports to the main office in Marion, Ohio, or other regional locations at dates and times as assigned by the administration. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: ? Identifying, selecting, and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and academic needs. ? Develop systems and methods for engaging students and increasing motivation and productivity. ? Communicate with stakeholders on a regular basis, in a timely and professional manner. ? Monitoring student progress, evaluating assessment data, and providing individualized feedback on student work to make meaningful learning experiences and provide individualized instruction. ? Keeping accurate and up-to-date student records, using TRECA systems. ? Collaborating with other staff as appropriate; maintain and foster good relationships with all staff. ? Ensuring program goals and objectives are being met, utilizing best practices across teams. ? Serving as general education representative on all Special Education teams, including progress reports for all special education students. ? Participating in state testing preparation and onsite administration. ? Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from universal screening and state-mandated tests, targeting intervention needs. ? Providing Response to Intervention (RTI) programming and instruction. ? Reporting onsite at main office or other locations as assigned. ? Interfacing daily with all required organizational communication systems. ? Assist with state testing as needed. ? Performing any and all related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: ? Current 7-12 Integrated ELA License with the Ohio Department of Education ? Must reside in Ohio ? Experience working in an educational setting ? Technological proficiency; home high speed Internet access ? An understanding of the TRECA environment ? An understanding of personalized learning ? Ability to multitask and execute duties according to deadlines ? High degree of flexibility and ability to collaborate with others ? High degree of organization and self-motivation ? Ability to communicate successfully with administration, staff, parents, and students, in both oral and written communications, electronically and hard copy ? Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement ? Ability to work successfully from a home and/or regional office environment ?
