Bluehawk is actively seeking a skilled linguist proficient in Tagalog – Tausug dialect to support SOCPAC, a subordinate unified command under US Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). SOCPAC provides a range of intelligence activities to support Pacific Theater Special Operations, deploying throughout the Pacific to support USPACOM's Theater Security Cooperation Program, deliberate plans, and real-world contingencies. SOCPAC forces conduct small unit exchanges, joint and combined training events, and operational deployments throughout the Pacific, fostering interoperability with host nation partners and facilitating strategic and operational objectives. SOCPAC also engages in counterdrug and humanitarian demining operations and trains host nation forces in various countries.

Responsibilities

Transcription:

  • Provide written translations of audio, video, and other sources, preserving the original meaning and intent.

  • Transcribe aural sources accurately, writing comprehensibly in English and/or the Tagalog – Tausug dialect.

    Translation:

  • Provide written translations of source texts, maintaining the original meaning and intent.

  • Translate documentation accurately, writing comprehensibly in the source Tagalog – Tausug dialect.

    Interpretation:

  • Provide interpretation services, fluent in both English and Tagalog – Tausug dialect.

  • Comprehend and accurately convey spoken and written information in both languages, considering cultural context and specialized terminology.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Tagalog – Tausug dialect.

  • Category III level linguist

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Experience in transcription, translation, and interpretation.

  • Ability to comprehend, speak, and write in both English and the Tagalog – Tausug dialect.

  • Familiarity with cultural contexts and specialized terminology.

  • Ability to observe protocols and master applicable modes in various settings.
