What will you be doing in this role?

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of physical therapy services for adult, and geriatric populations. The Physical Therapist is responsible for initiating care as per receipt of order by a physician and administers patient care according to guidelines set by the Physical Therapy Practice Act, Rehabilitation Services Department policies and procedures, Physical Therapy policies and procedures and scope of care. The patient care process includes examination, evaluation, treatment planning, intervention, patient/family/caregiver training, equipment and follow up recommendations, and documentation. The Physical Therapist administers treatments, modalities, procedures, and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability and pain following injury, disease or physical disability. They assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises the care provided by PTA/L, PTLA, and students.

  • Current California State Physical Therapy Licensure (required).

  • Current BCLS certification via AHA or ARC (required).

  • Graduate from a Physical Therapy program at a school accredited by CAPTE. (preferred).

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).

  • Additional languages (preferred).

  • One (1) or more years of previous experience in inpatient acute care Physical Therapy setting (preferred).

  • Basic computer knowledge (required)
