Position Details

Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible and accountable for evaluation, coordination and administration of quality respiratory therapy services.The starting pay for our RRT is $29 per hour. Essential Job Functions

• Provide respiratory therapy services as prescribed by the physician

• Follow policies and procedures and conform to all applicable patient care standards, licensure regulations and state laws

• Assist in securing treatment orders from physician

• Generate, evaluate and update plan of care for all patients based upon needs

• Documents patient response to therapy, patient condition, and changes in status

• Routinely communicate with physician regarding continued efficacy of treatment

• Routine set-up and maintenance of all respiratory therapy modalities

• Provide in-services for nursing personnel

• Participate in patient care conferences, staff meetings, and team conferencing

• Reflect current knowledge of trends, research and recent advances in the respiratory care of the medically complex child

• Maintain awareness of and complies with Company policy and procedures

• Complete and maintain billing information. Submits on a timely basis

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree

• Certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

• Current and unrestricted license as an RRT in the state of practice

• Current CPR certification

• Current Basic Life Support certification

• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures

• One (1) year experience in pediatric/neonatal specialty

Additional state specific requirements:

• Continuing Education as required by state

Preferences

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Pediatric experience

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English

• Must be able to travel

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

• Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance

• Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting

• Must be able to sit and climb stairs

• Must have visual and hearing acuity

• Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance

• Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport

Environment

• Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions

*$1,000 Sign-on bonus will be paid out in 2 installments; 50% after 30 days of
