JOB SUMMARY:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering a company's employee benefit and compensation programs and to be a resource to all employees in need of assistance in navigating those benefits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.

  • Facilitate annual Open Enrollment as well as Open Enrollment for new hires.

  • Ensure benefits deductions are updated properly in payroll

  • Assist Payroll in ensuring all time cards are approved in a timely manner

  • Maintain a positive relationship with benefits vendors and third parties.

  • Ensure employees are added and terminated from their respective benefits in a timely manner

  • Reconcile benefits invoices with payroll deductions

  • Other duties as needed

    Education and Experience :

    Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred

  • 2+ years of Benefits Administration experience

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

    Specific Technical Skills:

    Preferred :

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience in Paychex, Paylocity, and/or Empeon
