EHS Specialist - Waste Coordinator ID 2024-4659 # of Openings 0 Job Location(s) US-MN-Maplewood Category Science OVERVIEW Candidate will be part of a team that provides Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support to laboratory R&D operations, with an emphasis on waste coordinating. RESPONSIBILITIES Verify Waste Stream Profiles are active Ensure waste labels are correct and accurate Inspections of 90 day hazardous waste rooms Aid with monthlyhazardous waste surveys Manage waste findings and incidents Understand and implement waste storage and handling procedures Actively problem solve and trouble shoot waste logistics Maintain active communication with various customer personnel Assist in the disposal of hazardous waste and materials as part of laboratory clean outs QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a scientific field - Chemistry preferred Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps, garner management support for key initiatives, and track improvement initiatives to closure Risk analysis skills: capable of hazard and risk identification, assessment, and controls; communicate risks and methods to reduce risk Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectively Strong communication skills Ability to actively problem solve Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
