Overview

M Health Fairview seeks a Medical Director- Fairview Health Medical Group (FHMG) for Anesthesia at M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital. The Medical Director responsibilities will be at a .4 FTE. The clinical portion of the role will be a .6 FTE.

Practice Details:

  • Join a team of 11 anesthesiologists and employed CRNA’s.

  • Wide variety of cases to include: Cardiac, general surgical open and laparoscopic, robotics, spine and orthopedic, endoscopy cases, cardiac cath lab cases including TAVRs and ablations, C-sections, gyn and urology.

  • Annual case volume of 7,000+ in addition to cath lab procedures, 270 Cardiac Surgeries in 2023 and over 300 projected for 2024. In addition, we run over 4000 Cath Lab procedures

  • Hospital has 184 beds, 20 bed ICU, Short Stay Unit, Level 3A NICU, Busy OB practice with 2 OB OR Suites, high volume ED, Interventional Radiology, MRI and CT

  • Call: on premise and off premise, be supported by a core team of CRNAs covering 24/7

  • Openings: 11

  • Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).

  • As a Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO), our providers use a multidisciplinary team approach in managing clinical care.

Leadership Job Summary:

Responsible to ensure the delivery of consistently high levels of quality care and service that meets and/or exceeds clinical expectations and patient satisfaction for the Anesthesia Department. Assures the coordination, direction, and collaboration of services and resources related to the discipline as well as achieving productivity, financial and operational goals. Supports the Vice President of Medical Affairs to execute the mission and strategic direction for the practice in conjunction with the key stakeholders, including other service lines and domains.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Anesthesiology residency training program.

  • BC/BE with the ABMS

  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.

  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.

  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of medical practice including administrative and/or managerial experience

  • Demonstrated results for creating and maintaining a patient-centered, safe environment of care and improving patient care and experience

  • Demonstrated characteristics of inclusion, fairness, integrity and accountability

  • High levels of ethical and professional conduct

  • Excellent communication and physician engagement skills

  • Ability to balance the needs and perspectives of multiple constituencies and assist groups in decision making

  • Ability to lead and manage broad-based change and development

  • Recent clinical experience
