Job Title: Transmission Line Design Engineer

Job Description

  • As a Transmission Line Design Engineer, you will specialize in engineering, project management, and technical support for transmission line design projects. You will perform engineering tasks to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient designs. You will provide technical support to internal engineers, the project management group, permitting and land rights department, field technicians, operators, and others to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the transmission system. You will lead and participate in cross-functional teams to develop and update internal design standards and equipment specifications. Additionally, you may perform project management for Transmission Division projects to meet all financial, functional, and schedule requirements.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • 2 - 6+ years of transmission line design engineering experience

  • Familiarity with the NESC (National Electrical Safety Code)

  • Knowledge of the utility industry

  • Skill in utilizing and assessing technologies related to the utility industry

Soft Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to research, analyze, and make recommendations related to engineering decisions

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Project management skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Maple Grove, Minnesota and some days remote.

Work Environment

This position is based in Maple Grove and is eligible for a hybrid schedule per company policy.
