LSC Communications US LLC Operations Manager 2 in Maple Grove, Minnesota
The Operations Manager is responsible for maximizing the operating unit's productive capabilities to achieve economic commitments and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager is responsible for providing effective direction and leadership to the Receiving, Bulk, Order Fulfillment, Assembly, Returns and Shipping departments. Integral functions of this position include all operational activities necessary in the support of achieving the defined service level, performance goals and maintaining a well-trained workforce. Coordinate workforce through the use of managers and supervisory staff toward the goal of maintaining defined service standards and budgetary guidelines Work with Customer Service personnel to establish and follow fulfillment priorities Review data reports to support the maintenance of an accurate/current database of product warehoused at fulfillment center Follow-up on customer requests to ensure they are met on a timely basis Support the attainment of profitability goals set for operations Support "Continuous Improvement" and fine tune operations through the development of new methods and utilization of new equipment Provide and implement training initiatives Develop and maintain processes to measure performance of the operation both in specific areas and for overall activity Implement and maintain safe work processes Decision making that includes but is not limited to the areas of: departmental structure, staffing, scheduling, system enhancements, disciplinary action/evaluation and financial budgeting. Qualifications: Effective collaboration with employee teams, departments as well as customers to achieve company business and cultural objectives. Successful experience in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Active participation in the development and/or implementation of the new technology and methods to meet job and market demands. Delivering outstanding service to all internal and external customers. Attracting and developing subordinates to improve the overall performance of the organization. 4-6 years of experience in operations management in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Must be innovative, customer focused and possess strong leadership skills. Strategic thinking skills, excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, and superior interpersonal and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field or equivalent demonstrated work experience required. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems in a high volume multi-shift Pick/Pack operation preferred. Demonstrated success at the department manager level preferred. Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
