About the role: We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist III to join our dynamic team within Process Development. As a Data Scientist III, you will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to help leverage data analytics to drive insights, inform decision-making processes, derive actionable insights, and optimize performance within Boston Scientific. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and implementation of data analytics solutions that support our mission of delivering high-quality products and improving patient outcomes. The candidate must have a desire to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and solve technical/complex problems in a hands-on manner. This is a hybrid position based in Maple Grove, MN with a minimum 3-day on-site requirement. Key responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives. Assess manufacturing processes for automation and analytics opportunities. Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity. Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to analyze data. Assist in designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses and validate models. Generate and visualize insights from data analysis, creating detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders. Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews. Continuously monitor and improve the performance of existing models and algorithms. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare technology. Minimal qualifications: 4+ years of relevant experience with BS in Computer Science, Statistic, Engineering or a related field, OR 2+ years with MS degree Excellent proficiency in Python programming language as well as other languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Julia, C++, Java, etc.) Solid experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, or similar. Excellent familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar. Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics techniques. Basic understanding of database management systems. Preferred qualifications: Robust understanding of large language models (LLM) and frameworks including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). (e.g. LangChain, LlaMA, GPT, Bard, etc.) Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
