Position Type: Student Support Services/School Counselor Location: Osseo Middle School Closing Date: Until Filled Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Design and deliver data-driven school counseling services aligned with the district mission and ASCA standards to support scholar success; implement the building College and Career, academics, social-emotional and counseling plan according to district program objectives and priorities; teach and coordinate the delivery of the curriculum; coordinate registration and orientation for scholars when needed; advocate for the individual scholar; participate in planning and teaching of career education; counsel scholars individually and in small groups about personal concerns; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars; refer scholars and guardians/caregivers to appropriate specialists, special programs and/or community agencies; consult with teachers, staff, and guardians/caregivers regarding needs of individual scholars; participate in, coordinate, and/or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district and the school and/or program for which employed; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable.
