Millard Management Group LLC Purchasing Agent in Mansfield, Ohio
Job purpose: Purchasing and Procurement plays a vital role in the success of the Company. Critical functions include interacting with the owners, engineers and shop supervisors to ensure the correct materials are identified and procured in a timely fashion; maintaining a vendor database to engage in competitive pricing and negotiating with vendors to obtain the necessary materials at the best possible prices, delivered within the specified timeframes. This person keeps abreast of industry news to anticipate potential purchasing problems. Purchasing/Procurement also handles "front desk" backup duties: answering phones, greeting visitors, opening and distributing mail, providing employment applications, etc. Responsibilities: · Receives schedules and orders to identify material needs and timelines. · Obtains quotes and prices from vendors on materials and specifications. · Maintains and updates vendor database. · Maintains electronic purchasing files in addition to hard copy files. · Researches materials. · Issues purchase orders. · Performs basic purchasing: office supplies/ear plugs/gloves, etc. · Manages shop and office inventory. · Conducts comparative pricing on a scheduled basis. · Negotiates with vendors. · Conducts Annual Top Supplier Reviews: Purchases Year over Year, volume discounts, terms etc. · Work with owners, shop supervisors and suppliers to problem-solve potential materials delivery and other problems. · Works with owners to develop a code of ethics that must be signed and adhered to by all vendors. · Implements a monthly reconciliation of all purchasing. · Reconciliation between materials inventory and usage. · Backup to receptionist. · General Ledger coding of purchased items (G/L Accts and/or Job Assignment) · Credit Card security · Production reporting as it relates to material procurement · Assistance to estimators relating to material costs · Material cost trends · Lead for physical inventory · Stock code maintenance in ERP system Qualifications: · Strong math skills · Excellent negotiation skills · MS Office · Good problem-solving skills · Strong interpersonal skills · Strong verbal and written skills Attributes: · Detail orientation · Multi-task orientation · High energy · Computer savvy · Learner · Logical · Mechanical aptitude and awareness The information above is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function.
