Tasks

You will be an integral member of Bilfinger’s Investigations Department, which is part of Corporate Internal Audit and Investigations. The Investigation Department is responsible for the handling and consistent processing of all allegations within the Group. This also includes carrying out comprehensive compliance investigations. As an Investigation Manager (m/f/d), you will strengthen our team in the implementation of the various tasks covering all business areas and processes in the various divisions, regions and countries. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Efficient documentation of incoming allegations and ongoing cases, including administration of the allegation management system

  • Planning and conduct of internal investigations into allegations of embezzlement, corruption, fraud, threatening behavior, antitrust matters

  • Coordination of cross-border investigations conducted by multicultural teams including collaboration with other corporate functions, international law firms, external auditors and authorities

  • Conduct fact finding, forensic analysis of financial records, email and electronic data reviews and investigative interviews of witnesses and subjects

  • Preparation of comprehensive, well-written investigation reports, including recommendations for remedial action

  • Presentation of investigation findings and conclusions to committees and stakeholders

  • Management, monitoring and continuous improvement of the management of incoming allegations

  • Preparation of ad-hoc and regular reporting for various stakeholders, including executive management

    Requirements

  • You have a university degree in business, law or other relevant degree and professional experience in compliance or audit and in particular in conducting complex internal investigations either in a global industrial company or a major accounting firm

  • Furthermore, you have relevant experience in the area of forensic accounting (forensic analysis of books & records, bank accounts etc.)

  • Profound understanding of relevant legal frameworks (criminal law, US FCPA and UK Bribery Act, data protection law)

  • Relevant professional certifications (CPA, CPFAcct, CIA, CFE or equivalent) are a plus

  • In addition, you have a high professional and social competency, the professional curiosity of an investigator, a very strong analytical ability to think and to judge, combined with a systematic and goal-oriented approach, flexibility and a willingness to travel

  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written). Further language skills not a must but added advantage.
