JOB REQUIREMENTS: All production workers not listed separately. PRIMARY PURPOSE A person in the knockout position performs all required operations to remove sand shell material from a casting following established methods and procedures. This individual will operate a shaker table, other machines, and hand tools as directed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use a 3-pound hammer to remove sand from casting. Break sand mold from finished casting, using clay digger or sledgehammer. Sweeps, shovels, and cleans work areas. Place castings on pallets with necessary paperwork. Use hoist assist to pick up or move large castings. Remove chills and hooks from shaker table/floor. Separate gating into correct bins. Stamp casting once it is knocked out. Use compressed air to clean sand out of small and tight crevices of castings. Knock off down sprues. Study work instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences. Complete daily inspections on tools and equipment, filling out forms when required to do so. Maintain housekeeping in the work area at the end of each shift. Maintain area per established 6S standards. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisory or leadman personnel. East Knockout Load knocked out sand onto palmer table. Transport hopper, using the forklift, to South Knockout. Empty hopper, using forklift, onto sand pile in South Knockout. Use forklift to flip large castings upside down onto palmer table. Clean elevator pit. Knock out castings on the outside dock when required. Blowout castings with long air nozzle on dock. Clean outside dock. South Knockout Use John Deere to load sand into GK (Shaker Table) to transport silo for reclaim. Use Brokk knockout machine to clean castings. Empty dust collector when barrels are full.
