\ \ Instructor for the Center for Intercultural and Multilingual Advocacy (CIMA)\ \ Department: 3670040010 Education Dean of\ Job no: 516586\ Employment type: Academic / Faculty - 12 month\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Education / Instructional\ Pay Grade: 001\ \ \ About This Role:\ The Instructor for the Center for Intercultural and Multilingual Advocacy (CIMA) will support implementation, curriculum development, evaluation, and research related to federally funded projects designed to increase PK-12 educator capacities for culturally responsive practices.\ \ Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CIMA directors to design and conduct qualitative/quantitative studies.
  • Manage collection and organization of research data.
  • Engage in collaborative research dissemination and scholarship.
  • Support development of proposals for external funding.
  • Manage implementation of project goals and activities.
  • Collaborate with CIMA directors in the evaluation of programs, projects, and activities.
  • Collaborate with CIMA directors to develop curricula, program materials, and resources.
  • Facilitate professional development (e.g., courses, workshops).
  • Monitor and support participant progress toward completion of professional development benchmarks (e.g., course completion, DL/ESOL endorsement).
  • Conduct classroom observations to facilitate mentoring/coaching and program evaluation.
  • Facilitate research and networking events (e.g., summer institutes).
  • Provide progress reports to CIMA directors.
  • Support development of reports for funding agencies.

  • Master\'s degree in Education
  • Three years of experience teaching diverse student populations at the K-12 or college level
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with families in culturally and linguistically diverse communities

\ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Education
  • Specialized training or experience working with English learners
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate educational programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals and groups
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite to develop and organize materials
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
