While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of all medical records for the VHC. This position provides real-time auditing services, from standard daytime hours to afterhours and evenings, ensuring that all necessary information is present and accurate. This position will also serve as primary support for the hospital information system, Instinct, assisting students and staff as help and training are needed. Working hours for Health Information Specialists will include three evenings a week and rotating weekends.
