Job Summary

If you are a Software Development Manager looking to make a major impact on software offerings developed by a premier technology organization, Emerson has a great opportunity for you! Based in Manila, you will be responsible for leading the operational performance of a team of software developers as they design, develop and maintain the award winning DeltaV Distributed Control System. DeltaV is the state of the art, flagship distributed process control system used by many of the top companies in chemical, life sciences and energy industries. It consists of a variety of rich desktop and web applications used for engineering and operating a process control system, plus real-time embedded firmware in controllers and field devices directly controlling the process. Successful applicants would be expected to enhance and maintain existing products as well as develop the next generation DeltaV system, including Edge, Mobile, and potentially AI-related products.

In this role, your responsibilities will be:

Get results that contribute to the organization's goals through quality work produced by team members in collaboration with Agile Release Train leaders and functional collaborators.

Engage in planning, execution, and reviews activities to guide the on time and quality delivery of work commitments.

Build a high-performing team that delivers results with strong innovative mindset by continuously developing and enhancing software development and quality technical expertise and capabilities, and knowledge areas such as edge, mobile, and network architecture.

Drive vision and purpose in team goal setting, career planning, performance evaluations, and continuous process improvement, while cultivating culture and values.

Actively contribute to the organization’s strategic planning and consequently own and lead initiatives supporting business goals.

Ensure that teams are staffed effectively and efficiently for current and future business needs through hiring, talent management, and succession planning.

Guarantee availability of administrative, hardware, infrastructure and environment support the team needs.

For this Role You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems Technology

10+ years of knowledge and experience in software design, development, and quality delivery of software products using proven best practices

Strong & effective collaborators or account management experience

Has demonstrated knowledge in planning, leading, organizing and projects and manage well in an environment with competing demands. At least 4 years of team management experience

Confirmed capability to deliver results through collaboration with a highly-engaged team in constantly evolving and a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Familiarity with object-oriented software analysis, design and implementation

Experience with developing software products in multiple platforms with desktop, web, mobile, and API technology stack

Knowledge or experience with using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile practices

Experience with ISO certified processes and audits, secure lifecycle development, and/or development of software products for use in a SIL environment

Experience with leading a team in a manner that empowers the team with clear directions while at the same time holds them accountable for results

Experience with DeltaV or related distributed control system products or technologies
