Tecomet Punch Laser Operator in Manchester, New Hampshire

Punch Laser Operator: 3rd Shift

Position Summary

The Punch Laser Operator is responsible for operating punch/laser machines to produce parts according to the required specifications. This role must be carried out with adherence to Tecomet's values of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a "win first" culture while ensuring that the company's financial and performance metrics are met. The operator's primary duty is to ensure that the punch/laser machines are utilized efficiently to produce high-quality parts that meet the customer's requirements while minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Machine parts to specifications using documentation presented on routing/drawings and program hard copy.

  • Employ use of inspection methods to ensure the quality of production.

  • Ability to perform entry-level problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to run one or more machine types.

  • Maintains housekeeping and safety standards in work area.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1-2 years of experience loading and running machines

  • Knowledge and proficiency in using standard measuring equipment

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints

  • Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong team player and ability to transition from one task to another

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to follow written procedures

  • Basic computer skills.
