Dartmouth Health Lead EP Advanced Practice Provider Cardiology Outpatient (FT) Manchester in Manchester, New Hampshire

Overview

Clinical lead for the Southern region Dartmouth cardiology sites based out of Manchester.

Coordinates all aspects of patient care concerning implantable cardiac devices including assisting with routine and clinically urgent device checks, assisting in the ongoing staff development and continuing education with ongoing developments in the cardiology field concerning implantable cardiac devices, and assisting in the coordination of device procedures specifically new implants/explants and generator changes. Works with the appropriate teams to create or revise processes, policies and procedures for device management.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Gathers pertinent information, interviews patients and performs physical examinations on patients in collaboration with attending cardiologist. Develops, manages, and executes a patient plan of care.

  • Analyze device staffing needs, including staff cost efficiencies, makes recommendations for staffing changes to improve and maximize patient flow and patient care.

  • Analyzes and develops work schedule for the device service line.

  • Facilitates communication across specialties and collaborates with the cardiovascular team to assist in patient care of patients with cardiac devices.

  • Works with Dartmouth cardiology leadership team on strategic planning for device program.

  • Ensure appropriateness of in-clinic device checks including availability of a provider for the nurse or cardiac tech performing in-clinic check.

  • Provide technical and nursing support to Device Clinic.

  • Oversees the device clinic staff including device RN and device tech.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program

  • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) preferred

Experience:

  • Three or more years as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner preferred with a minimum of two years of electrophysiology experience.

  • Experience in managing cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs, ILRs)

Required Licensure/Certifications

Licensed by the state of NH as physician assistant or nurse practitioner. ACLS authorization.
