The Integrated Airborne Solutions Division of the Airborne Systems Business Area of Leidos currently has an opening for a Transportation Coordinator supporting the IAS Divisions Aviation Integration, Maintenance, Sustainment & Safety (AIMSS) Branch programs. Leidos is the Product Support Management and logistics lead for airborne intelligence platforms located in various CONUS and OCONUS operational areas and depots. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the IAS Division AIMSS Branch.

What’s in it for you?

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning and execution of all CONUS transportation requirements related to supply. This includes the responsibility for coordinating regulatory compliance checks, special handling, packaging, material handling equipment coordination at destination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders for task execution as required.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders for on-time delivery of shipments to/from CONUS sites. Schedule pick-up and delivery after obtaining quotes, selecting the most cost-effective option, and coordinating with appropriate authorities to obtain authorization, licenses, and funding approval for AIMSS Branch international transportation objectives.

  • Completion of DD1149’s, Packing Lists, Bill Of Lading, and other documents required for shipping supply within the United States.

  • Proper packing and building of tri-walls and pallets for consolidated cargo.

  • Monitor and report current status of CONUS shipments in LMMIS database.

  • Responsible for coordinating with International Trade Manager to maintain current export licenses with appropriate locations and equipment lists for each AIMSS project.

  • Responsible for supporting the International Transportation Manager in preparing for transit international shipments by packing and building of tri-walls or parcel shipments.

  • Responsible for creating IBT’s in LMMIS to match the outbound contents of shipments.

  • Responsible for tracking all shipments to delivery and obtaining signed shipping documents when shipped to external stakeholders or work with recipient internal stakeholders to make sure they receive IBT’s at destination when shipments arrive.

  • Backup driver for the box truck for bulk equipment/cargo movements between CONUS destinations. Requires DOT certification.

  • Support the local logistics team during surge efforts to pick/pull parts from warehouse and complete LMMIS updates for equipment movements between destinations.

  • Responsible for coordinating with the security/COMSEC manager for COMSEC, CCI, or Classified.

  • Responsible for coordinating with Transportation Lead to ensure compliance with 49 CFR Subchapter C for HAZMAT.

  • Responsible for discrepancies reporting for CONUS transit related incidents.

  • Responsible for responding to discrepancies where received material doesn’t match what was shipped.

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records in LMMIS for IBT’s.

  • Weekend logistics support 1 weekend per month.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience

  • Logistics Management database proficiency

  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working for the DoD as a Transportation Coordinator

  • Bachelor Degree and One (1) or more years of experience with transportation management.

  • Experience with Trade Compliance

  • Experience with HAZMAT requirements for shipments.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $42,250.00 - $76,375.00
