Adecco US, Inc. Senior Cost Accountant in Manassas, Virginia

Adecco is looking to hire an On-Site Senior Cost Accountant for a pharmaceutical company in Manassas , VA! This is for a temporary opportunity. As a Senior Cost Accountant , you will be responsible for all aspects of cost accounting and inventory oversight. The Senior Cost Accountant is to proactively participate in the Finance Department's financial close process, analysis, and reporting. Apply now if you meet the qualifications listed below!

Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant job include, but are not limited to:

• Perform cost estimates for new products or potential changes to existing products, as required.

• Analyze for discrepancies in manufactured product costs, by reviewing the manufacturing variances and identifying any discrepancies in routings or bills of materials.

• Keep work orders current and work closely with production to correct any discrepancies.

• Ensure integrity of standard costs and item attributes that impact costing or standard accounting flows.

• Analyze cost of sales and manufacturing variances.

• Prepare monthly Yield, PPV, Reject and KP! Reporting.

• Assist in annual budget process with sales plan and standard cost rate.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries.

• Perform other monthly and quarterly financial reports as necessary.

• Inventory

• Confirm month-end subledger balances with the General Ledge r and on-hand balances.

• Monitor damaged/rejected inventories and facilitate the paperwork approval, tracking, and filing process.

• Monitor aging inventories for obsolescence, reviewing and recording appropriate reserves.

• Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with inventory related transactions.

• Analyze shipped/invoiced inventory for COGS and CM accuracy.

• Assist with R&D and new item setup process.

• Participate in corporate and site initiatives.

• Work on Special projects as directed by Management.

• Maintain and update all required schedules and spreadsheets in Excel to help achieve an accurate and timely month-end Close.

• Assist with any Quality audit items needed.

Qualifications:

• 5 to 7 years' experience in Accounting or Manufacturing.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field of study

• Advanced ability to gather, monitor, analyze and document data.

• Ability to recognize financial implications for business decisions and strategy.

• Advanced PC skills including spreadsheet competency (Excel and SAGE, JD Edwards} Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Perfect attendance is a MUST!

• Candidates must have their own reliable transportation.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm- may need to work longer hours depending on business need (such as month end)

Pay for this position starts at $32/hr but room for more based-on experience.

Pay Details: $32.00 to $37.00 per hour
