ATCC Senior Biologist in Manassas, Virginia

Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC , a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a n onsite Senior Biologist located in Manassas, VA.

We're looking for a Senior Biologist for Virology BioProduction to manufacture and test biological materials and standards. You'll work independently to support the production of virus cultures and derivative products, as well as collect and record data. You will provide training and guidance to the team as appropriate .

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Operations: Manufacturing or quality control (QC) testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other controlled documents. Maintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies .

  • Documentation: Maintain production batch records in compliance with good laboratory practices. Revise and develop SOPs and work instructions. Collect, analyze, and report data, ensuring meticulous documentation.

  • Continuous Learning and Problem-Solving: Work towards subject matter expertise of various cell lines and organisms, and handle challenges in alignment with organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent

  • Extensive experience with cell culture and aseptic technique required

  • Virus culture experience is preferred

  • Molecular experience is a plus

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to adhere to corporate policies and procedures
