Mammoth Hospital Dental Assistant / Front Office in Mammoth Lakes, California

Job Summary

The Dental Assistant/Front Office is responsible for performing assigned duties within his/her capabilities and under the supervision of the Clinic Manager. They will assist the dental physician and registered dental hygienist in specified aspects of patient treatment. The Dental Assistant/Front Office also performs front office duties and is responsible for professional and efficient operation of the admission/registration process, maintaining effective interaction with the public and hospital personnel.

What You'll Do:

Back Office Responsibilities

  • Works under the direct medical supervision of the dentist.

  • Preps patients for treatment.

  • Assists dentists during treatments.

  • Completes patient exams to include x-rays, prior to the dentists performing visual exams.

  • Prepares trays for treatments/procedures.

  • Processes instruments (completes cleaning and sterilization).

  • Supports and assists hygienists as needed.

  • Completes all patient related documentation in current EHR.

  • Works collaboratively with the front office to ensure patients are seen timely, H&P's are up to date and follow up appointments are scheduled.

  • Order supplies.

Front Office Responsibilities

  • Opens and close front office according to procedure.

  • Performs Patient Access Representative related duties, as needed, to include: appointment scheduling, reminder calls, checking patients in and out.

  • Performs charge related functions, as directed by the Clinic Manager and/or Clinic Coordinator.

  • Directs patient complaints to Clinic Manager.

Who You Are:

  • Excellent communicator

  • Detail oriented

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Strong customer service skills

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • State of California Registered Dental Assistant license preferred.

  • Two years Healthcare, Patient Access, or Dental Assistant experience preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

  • American Heart Association BLS certification preferred.

Job Information:

  • Part-time, day shifts.
