Position Description

Job Summary

The Project Manager, Strategy will be responsible for providing project management support and direction for key regional initiatives within North America, including acquisition integration, and enterprise projects. This role will serve as the lead for project workstream coordination, reporting, and execution. In addition, this role will support the development of Saint-Gobain strategy in North America, working across business units and contributing to the collection, assessment and analysis of competitive intelligence and market indicators.

This role will contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and will have responsibility for the execution of projects which pull on resources from across the organization. On each project, they will liaise with functional workstream leaders and stakeholders to ensure a successful project outcome. The role will contribute to the development of executive communication and present to key stakeholders within the SG organization. They will be counted on to guide strategic conversations and manage multiple simultaneous workflows and initiatives. Through clear communication and organization, they will be counted on to simplify and enable the completion of complex projects.

Required Qualifications

Project management and coordination

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with management, project sponsors, project team members and other stakeholders

  • Effectively communicate expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, continuously manage objectives, and hold project team members accountable for delivery

  • Lead project execution and delivery and help project teams maintain an overall project vision with supporting project plans

  • Refine project execution approach using project management standards and best practices

  • Identify and manage project dependencies, critical path items, and project risks

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential roadblocks, and devise contingency plans

  • Develop and deliver progress reports to management and other stakeholder including issue/action item logs, project status, and risks

  • Conduct post-project reviews and make recommendations for continuous excellence in project execution and delivery

  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the strategy group

  • Develop and advocate best practices and tools for project execution and management

Executive reporting and communication

  • Steering Committee meeting preparation and presentations to senior leaders and executives

Strategy development

  • Work with internal stakeholders (and third party consultants when required) to develop corporate strategy

  • Contribute to the development of strategy documents including the regional Long Range Plan (LRP) and business level strategy

Additional Description

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management or related field (Required)

  • Masters degree (Preferred)

  • 5+ years in Business strategy, project management and/or marketing roles

  • Project management experience is required

  • Business integration or transformation experience (Preferred)

  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Listening and communicating, particularly with senior leadership and executives
