Senior Industrialisation Engineer:

The purpose of this role is to provide operational support to the Smart Residential/Yale Product Units and Market Regions within EMEIA focused on assuring productivity, efficiency, quality, cost optimization and on-time delivery with external supply partners and inter-company manufacturing organizations.

Principal Responsibilities:

Overall

  • Support Product Management & Engineering teams with the industrialization of Designs for Manufacture and

  • Support the Quality manager to manage end-to-end product quality.

    Industrial engineering

  • Generate manufacturing process requirements/instructions. Work with internal and external engineering to create necessary jigs, fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing goals

  • Support project cost estimations including resources, capital and other requirements

  • Review and provide input from an operational perspective on product configuration management

  • Propose improvements and evolutions of products and production tooling to R&D teams

  • Assist and supervise production partners to realize production prototypes in line with project timescales

  • Identify issues related to production tooling and drive corrective actions.

  • Ensure product related (operational) information is obtained and populated within relevant ERP and/or Product Information Masters.

  • Work closely with engineering, product management, internal customers and operations/production entities to define, track and ensure completion of new product launch objectives.

  • Perform supplier Process Audit through on-site visits

  • Work closely with EMEIA Tech support, Engineering and Product Management to drive product quality improvement towards our suppliers

  • Coordinate operations deliverables as required by the gateway process

    Quality

  • In collaboration with quality function, ensure all quality requirements are implemented at supplier’s e.g. in-coming quality controls, in-process quality control, out-going quality controls etc.

  • Provide technical contribution in the resolution of problems or non-conformities both internally and with suppliers in close collaboration with quality. Help to manage quality of sub-contracted products.

    Education / Qualifications:

    Essential:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in a relevant field: business, operations, supply chain management, engineering.

    Desirable:

  • A Masters degree (MSc) in a relevant field: business, operations, supply chain management, engineering.

  • APICS, CPIM and/or CIRM certification is also a plus.

  • MBA is preferred.

    Experience :

    Essential:

  • Deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes for both mechanical and electronic products

  • Strong supplier management skills

  • Significant operations management experience and progressive responsibility within a world-class manufacturing company preferably in consumer electronics

  • Ability to influence and work through cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and influence at all levels of an organization

  • Experience of working in multi-cultural teams

  • Prepared to travel extensively in the role, mostly within EMEIA, but occasionally elsewhere in the world

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills

    Desirable:

  • Chinese language skills and/or Korean

  • Experience developing business case

  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
