SCOPE OF THE ROLE

COMMERCIAL PLANNING (Monthly & Annual)

  • Through the regular Monthly business planning cycle, accountable for ensuring coherence, accuracy and visibility of the total Category Commercial Plan across Channels and Key Customers on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

  • Accountable for monitoring, analysis and reporting of category performance across channels and key customers through monthly and quarterly dashboards, combining both external and internal data points as well as ensuring both internal and external stakeholders are aligned to the category vision and initiatives.

  • Ensure relevant inputs are factored into the monthly business planning cycle (supporting the demand planning process) to ensure a clearly aligned Monthly target and assign monthly targets to the Sales team.

  • Facilitate the Annual Commercial planning processes for their respective categories to ensure a clearly aligned and commercially strong plan across Sales & Marketing whilst being accountable for crafting the Category channel plan to support the annual business objectives.

CATEGORY LEADERSHIP

  • Commercial Development in their role as Category expert will be accountable for clearly defining the category shopper segmentation and driving category growth through tactics based on consumer, shopper and customer understanding as input to long term Business strategy. Through support of the Nestle global & local team, responsible for identifying priority channels for the Category and developing category strategy, definition and identification of category growth drivers.

  • Using category & commercial expertise, be accountable for giving sales inputs into the early stages of the New product development process to ensure that the shopper opportunity is captured and commercialized across channels and key customers.

CHANNEL EXPERTISE

  • Accountable for identifying opportunities within all prioritized channels to execute the key category initiatives ensuring a frictionless on-line/off-line experience and with this develop winning strategies and solutions for priority channels for respective category

  • Define the picture of success for the category in each prioritized channel and enable its implementation, continuous review and optimization

SHOPPER EXPERTISE

  • Accountable to ensure Shopper considerations across all relevant outputs, inc. applying shopper understanding in category, channel, brand and customer plans.

  • Equip Customer Teams with actionable shopper insights which will inspire customers to implement aligned category strategy and initiatives

  • Responsible for crafting the shopper communication brief, based on the outcomes from the Nestle Brand engagement process to ensure proper briefing to the Shopper Activation manager to develop timely and fit for purpose in-store communication

STRATEGIC REVENUE MANAGEMENT

  • Contribute to aligned brand pricing & promotion strategies across the portfolio, will define & execute optimized Pack Price architecture

  • Expose the effectiveness of the full commercial investment mix and seek and share opportunities to optimize it

  • By understanding trade investment composition & structure across customers, ensure optimal commercial plans are in place to execute against aligned portfolio & brand pricing strategies & drive return on investment

  • Develop clear promotional guidelines/policies across our channels & customers based on agreed brand pricing strategies, infused with consumer & shopper insights.

  • Partner with marketing, sales & finance to optimize trade promotion plans based on systematic promotional evaluation, challenge effectiveness, funding & mechanics, consistently applying Keep/Modify/Drop mindset, balancing trade investment with customer tactics and needs, to improve ROI

  • Accountable for the effective and efficient spend relating to all Shopper facing activities identified in the Annual & Monthly planning processes
