Job Overview

The main objectives of the Global Control Tower are to provide real-time visibility of transportation data, performance, trends, issues, and risks through the effective management and control of the service providers' reports and data to enable all BUs and the Global Supply Chain to understand, prioritize, resolve critical transportation issues, manage exceptions, mitigate business and customer impact.

Proactive communication of transportation-related events, specific shipments impacted, and overall business impact to facilitate the decision-making process for unplanned events.

The Global Control Tower Manager will be the focal point of contact for all service providers in shipment reporting, events monitoring, and managing service levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and manage the service providers' transportation report timeliness & data accuracy.

• Manage all international shipments across geographies to ensure that service providers via air, ocean, and parcel are fully compliant with the agreed service level.

• Take immediate action and intervention to mitigate and manage potential delays or shipment delays that will lead to service issues.

• Collaborate with service providers to conduct an immediate root cause analysis and issue resolution to mitigate shipment delays.

• Closely monitor actual transit time trends & performance vs the contractual transit time.

• Proactive and timely communication of transportation events such as but not limited to strikes, force majeure, port congestions & road, air & sea incidents, business impact, and affected shipments.

• Manage and report transportation performance and KPIs.

• Take an active role in managing vendor performance.

• Socialize with BUs and Global Logistics teams on any potential service or transit time issues or service issues.

• Close collaboration with all Internal & External stakeholders.

• Support in developing transport processes and procedures.

• Support in conducting training and transport knowledge sharing across all geographies.

• Actively participate in best practice sharing across.

• Lead transport transformation as part of the Continuous Improvement process

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, or Business related courses

• Preferably with an MBA or Diploma or Master’s in Logistics or Supply Chain or a related field

• Knowledge of the English language enabling professional work

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• 10+ strong knowledge and work experience in managing international transportation operations from a fast-paced industry such as electronics, automotive, industrial, FMCG, or service industry (freight forwarding, shipping lines)

• Strong analytical skills

• Effective communication and presentation skills

• Cross-cultural knowledge and experience

• Project management skills

• People management skills

• Knowledge in SAP & other ERP
