Facility Description:Maitland Surgery Center is a 20 bed multi-specialty surgery center specializing in pediatrics and adults. We have 3 operating rooms and 1 procedure room.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
The Preop/PACU Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The Pre-Op/PACU RN is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.
Admits and recovers patient according to the facilities policy and procedure, completes preoperative teaching to patient and family and initiates postoperative teaching to be completed during the recovery phase.
Administers and charts medications as ordered by the physician.
Maintains and demonstrates safe medication practices.
Demonstrates proper Infection Control practices.
Provides nursing care and appropriate monitoring of the patient according to policy and procedure.
Accurately completes Preop/PACU record
Provides competent emergency care according to physician and policy and procedure.
Sets priorities to facilitate the flow of patients efficiently.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to read and communicate in English. BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
Experience: One to three years of nursing practice – preferably in Preop/PACU.
Licensure: RN Licensed in Florida
Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
