Santa Cruz Bicycles Accounts Receivable Manager (m/f/d) in Mainz, Germany

We are looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Receivable Manager (m/f/d) at our European headquarter in Mainz-Mombach, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced and growing team that creates an amazing experience for our customers, dealers and prospective customers.

Position Summary:

As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will be leading our EMEA Accounts Receivable team within our EMEA office in Mainz, Germany. This position is a key driver supporting our financial goals and strives to reach the company annual target by leading and managing the Accounts Receivable team with all the relevant tasks and tools. This position is a pivotal role in building upon one of our strategic pillars for establishing industry leading customer service levels.

We are looking for someone who has experience as a team leader within financial accounting (specifically Accounts Receivable) and credit & collection. The person should be passionate about bikes, the outdoor or sports industry and helping and supporting people.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for managing our team of Credit & Collection Analysts

  • Track progress of the teams collection activities and call out any support needed to ensure operational excellence

  • Enable, propose and implement process improvements within the scope of the team

  • Assess customer credit worthiness through multiple resources

  • Establish and manage credit limits for our EMEA dealers

  • Maintain customer documents and records in the ERP software

  • Monitor accounts for timely and accurate payment

  • Investigate and resolve customer payment issues

  • Communicate closely with EMEA Inside,Outside Sales and EMEA Finance teams

  • This role requires some travel, at least three trips per year, to visit selected dealers within the region and to create relationships with key contacts in the industry.

    Competencies and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting, preferred experience in payment collection/accounts receivable

  • Proven track tracked of managing Accounts Receivable tasks and a team to ensure that queries are resolved and communicated timely; all cash applications are accurately recorded into the system within agreed turnaround times; all bank accounts are reconciled, AR ageing, bad debt and write-offs are correctly monitored and managed; Collections, DDO and outstanding invoices are monitored; Identification of accounts for collection, reconciliation and application of payments

  • Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills; ability to build rapport and effectively interact with others in the function, across functions, and with varying organizational levels and to work collaboratively within a team toward mutual objectives

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral

  • Professional experience exercising sound judgment and discretion

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software

  • Experience with ERP software is preferable

  • Experience working with a company with multiple locations globally is preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills, very comfortable talking on the phone multiple times a day

  • Ability to read, comprehend and explain documents in English and German. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English and German.
