Located in the Mahwah, New Jersey area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role.

How you will make an impact

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

    Requirements - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • ERP system experience

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
