Senior Scientist – Raw Materials

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Raw Materials Senior Scientist, who will conduct analytical testing of raw materials and clinical supplies. This role will need to navigate through compendial documents, document testing, troubleshoot instruments, and enter data into the LIMS system. They order reagents, practice safety, and communicate testing status to relevant team members and stakeholders.

This position reports into Senior Director Analytical and is based at Greater Mumbai.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing of raw materials, clinical supplies, and/or reference standards.

  • Execute analytical testing for finished products per current methodology.

  • Test raw materials per current pharmacopeial methodologies and will navigate through the USP and Ph. Eur. compendial documents.

  • Document all analytical testing in notebook following all applicable SOPs and cGMPS.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting on chromatographic instruments and perform instrumental and wet chemistry testing including titrations, HPLC, GC, FT-IR , UV and other chemical analyses.

  • Enter data into LIMS system and calibrate instruments per current procedures as needed.

  • Orders reagents and other materials and will proactively identify lab supplies that are needed to maintain and improve laboratory functioning.

  • Practices company safety practices at all times as well as compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

  • Communicate testing status and perform assigned analytical activities to support on-going projects.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of analytical chemistry experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of analytical chemistry experience or a PhD is required.

  • A focused degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry is preferred.

  • Experience working with raw materials or reference standards is preferred.

  • Familiarity with quality systems and requirements related to product development and raw materials is preferred.

  • It is preferred that this candidate have experience performing instrumental and wet chemistry testing including titrations, HPLC, GC, FT-IR , UV and other chemical analyses successfully.

  • Familiarity with GMP’s is required.

  • Experience writing and modifying SOP’s is preferred.

  • It is preferred that this candidate have strong technical writing skills and strong communication skills.

  • Able to handle multiple, competing priorities and work with minimal supervision to creatively accomplish technical tasks.
