Description

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to solve complex problems, engage different stakeholders and deliver innovative technology solutions. As a TPM you will be communicating to Software Development Managers and Technical Product Managers, Directors about all aspects of the project.

You will dive deep into technical challenges, analyze and make significant contributions to technical designs, evaluate existing solutions and propose new options, supported with facts and data. You will solve problems and build mechanisms to make us more efficient and effective. You will be working daily with our global tech teams to deliver results for Amazon customers. You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical and program management skills leading medium to large projects involving distributed systems, web development, front-end/back-end design, and more.

A successful candidate will have an established background in designing and leading the implementation of highly scalable systems that involve several teams, identifying and removing technical stoppers, communicating and reporting to stakeholders (SDMs, PMs and Directors) and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch

  • Make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams

  • Drive simplification and efficiency in existing engineering and architectures to unblock innovation and speed of delivery

  • Identify innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through sound judgment

  • Engage on a regular and frequent basis with stakeholders to report status, risks and strategy

  • Identify system and process deficiencies and lead the charge to drive meaningful change through writing effective narratives and presenting them to Directors and VPs

  • Work closely with software engineering teams and act as technical advisors to customers and stakeholders

  • Negotiate resources and priorities

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams

  • Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience working directly with engineering teams

  • Experience in system design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
