The Opportunity

This position works out of our Spain location in the Diabetes division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As a Senior Financial Analyst , you’ll have the chance to provide the required financial information and support to the country management team.

What You’ll Do

  • Full support in development of Sales plan and other related forecast inputs.

  • Participation in the financial month end closing, providing all required information to the different accounting departments, in compliance with Abbott Financial policies and US GAAP procedures.

  • Monthly reporting package preparation including Full P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis and commentary.

  • Facilitate monthly financial reviews with country commercial staff.

  • Development of all required country forecast submissions including Plan, Updates, monthly forecasts.

  • Collaborate on key financial and strategic issues with the country managers.

  • Sales price/volume, product cost/mix analysis and demand analysis

  • Cost center modelling and analysis including payroll, travel, allocations, etc.

  • Preparation monthly sales report, promo expenses, samples

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.

  • Support Country Controller in internal controls and financial audits

Required Qualifications

  • Adequate University Degree in Finance (Bachelor, Master)

  • 7-10 years’ experience in Finance/Controlling.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish – Further languages is a benefit.

  • Excellent Excel skills, good skills on database applications and general interest in software applications.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Teamwork spirit.

  • Very good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate within Finance as well as to Area Managers and Senior Management.

  • Self-starter.

  • Reliable in meeting timelines.
