Sulzer is looking for a Senior UX Designer with a proven track record in B2B SaaS startup environments to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be adept at capturing user requirements and translating them into compelling digital user experiences. This role requires a strategic thinker who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing critical input to software engineers to ensure the delivery of seamless user experiences.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

• User Research & Analysis:

o Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.

o Utilize qualitative and quantitative methods to gather insights and inform design decisions.

o Create user personas, journey maps, and user stories to guide the design process.

• UX Design & Prototyping:

o Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to communicate design ideas.

o Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for complex B2B web and mobile applications.

o Ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and meet accessibility standards.

• Collaboration & Communication:

o Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize user requirements.

o Provide clear and actionable design specifications and assets to UX developers incl. Acceptance criteria and definition of done within the SCRUM framework

o Facilitate design discussions and feedback sessions to iterate and refine design solutions.

• Usability Testing & Iteration:

o Plan and conduct usability testing to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.

o Analyze test results and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data.

o Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented designs.

• Leadership & Mentorship:

o Drive, collaborate and coach the community of practices within Sulzer.

o Stay up to date with the latest UX trends, tools, and best practices.

o Champion user-centric design principles across the organization.

o Establish a comprehensive design process, leveraging the newest best practices and technologies.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in UX design, preferably within some years spent in a startup environment.

• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX projects and design thinking process.

• Strong sense of ownership and personal drive to design outstanding solutions.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Miro. Nice to have if you also have experience working with low-code tools like bubble.io or webflow.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
