Amazon iOS Software Development Engineer, Ring in Madrid, Spain

Description

The Ring team is looking for a passionate and talented iOS Software Development Engineer who has broad experience building world-class mobile apps. You will be responsible for developing mobile applications that interact seamlessly with our devices and delight our customers.

You will join a team responsible for developing a UI framework that enables other teams to create user-friendly and accessible applications. Also, your role includes adding features to improve user engagement and feature awareness.

Our goal is to provide the best possible experience to our customers, building solutions and supporting new products that help Ring on their mission to make neighbourhoods safer.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain our iOS mobile applications

  • Work with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype technology and evaluate technical feasibility

  • Lead architecture and design of features, from conception to launch

  • Help to improve engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness

  • Be part of an agile development process to deliver high-quality software

  • Work with UI and Design System

A day in the life

In this role, you will develop features, systems, or components based on requirements, focusing on creating a seamless and intuitive user experience. Your responsibilities include consulting other developers on UI/UX and accessibility practices, crafting comprehensive documentation, and building new functionalities when needed. You will also review pull requests to ensure high code standards and collaborate with design and product teams on the finer points of implementation, ensuring that every solution is well-aligned with user needs and organizational goals.

Our mission is to boost the efficiency and experience of developers by providing them with effective tools and resources. We work closely with design and mobile teams to build solutions that satisfy and delight our users. In this role, you will contribute to improving user engagement and awareness of various features.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • iOS mobile application development experience in Swift

  • Experience contributing into unit testing of mobile application

  • Experience writing custom UI components.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience developing applications using SwiftUI

  • Experience with framework Combine

  • Experience with accessibility in mobile applications

  • Experience optimising apps UI performance

  • Experience programming with Python

  • Experience with Design Systems

  • Experience with REST architecture for web services
