JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This is a position for a transplant anesthesiologist primarily to provide clinical anesthesia care with teaching opportunities to residents, fellows, and medical students. If appointed on the CHS track, duties will also include education, scholarly activity, and research components. Responsibilities: Duties for appointment to the Clinician Teacher (CT) track: Provision of clinical anesthetic care to surgical patients (i.e. working in the operating room, plus evening and weekend call ) in an anesthesia team model. Provision of clinical anesthetic care will be primarily, but not exclusively, for transplant anesthesia patients. Teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in the operating room, and occasional didactic sessions. Duties for appointment to CHS track: Major teaching responsibilities for residents, fellows, and medical students in the operating room, and didactic sessions. Primary emphasis of teaching will be in the transplant anesthesia patient care area. Provision of clinical anesthetic care will be primarily, but not exclusively, for transplant surgical patients (i.e. working in the operating room, plus evening and weekend call) in an anesthesia team model or personally performed anesthesia. Opportunity for participation or to lead clinical research for interested and qualified candidates. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
