JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Are you a graphic designer or data visualization whiz who is passionate about planet-saving research? Do you enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders to conceive and produce work that makes a difference? Come join our team of supportive, collaborative, mission-focused individuals at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. We are seeking a Scientific Illustrator to join our Sustainability Research Hub (SRH). The SRH aims to make UW-Madison the preeminent destination for environmental science by supporting innovative, large-scale, cross-cutting sustainability research on campus and beyond. As a data visualization specialist, you will enhance grant proposals by creating graphic elements to help researchers communicate scientific concepts and processes in easily understood and eye-catching visualizations. You will work closely with SRH leadership and be supported by colleagues on the proposal preparation team. Principle Investigators will count on your keen eye for detail to ensure proposal graphics are clear, compelling, and effective. You will leverage existing UW-Madison branding to create templates and graphics to bring a cohesive look to proposals.
