13369BRDepartment Name:HSP Environmental Services Location:Meriter Hospital Job Description: The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for planning and organizing the Environmental Services, day to day activities in a safe, infection control and efficient manner. Ensures a clean, safe and attractive environment, compliance with organizational policies, waste management regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance programs. Focuses on Patient and Customer Satisfaction. Provides education and training to staff. Follows organizational rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, values and quality commitment of UnityPoint Health –Meriter.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and an additional 1 year of schooling beyond high school in a technical school or university. In lieu of education, would consider applicable experience.

  • Two years supervisory experience in Environmental Services or related field in a large organization, preferable a health care setting.

  • Strong working knowledge of infection control practices and equipment required with demonstrated ability to manage multiple areas and processes.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work with diverse workforce to produce high quality outcomes.

  • Environmental procedures and enforcing compliance with appropriate policies and procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year associate supervision degree. Courses in computer applications.

  • Preferably supervision or business-oriented courses. Working towards a two-year associate supervision degree highly desirable

  • Experience with union work force

  • Experience with cleaning equipment and floor care

  • Experience with computer applications
